Registration

How do I sign up?

Click on the Register Button on the Women's JCN5K site or CLICK HERE.

Fill in your information and then choose your Event:

JCN5K Runner-Raiser - Choosing this option means you plan to attend the Women's JCN5K on race day and fundraise as well.
JCN5K Fundraiser - Choosing this option means you do not plan to attend the Women's JCN5K race but plan to fundraise.

Once you register, you will be able create and manage your own personal page, share your photos, set goals, join a team, and get sponsors.

What does it cost to register?

Early Bird Registration is $54.00 - Register online by May 21st, before 11:59 PM. That's $21.00 in savings!!
Event registration is $75.00 - Any registrations after May 22nd, at 12:00 AM.

What’s included in my registration?

All registered participants receive the following:

- JCN5K Bag
- JCN5K Water Bottle
- Race Number Bib and Timing Chip

When do I get my bib number and race shirt?

Race gear and materials will be available at packet pickup or on race day.

Reminder: You will only receive a race shirt if you raise a minimum of $180.00 by May 21st, before 11:59 PM.

*Donations need to appear on your fundraising page to qualify.

*Registration does not count towards your fundraising amount.

*Once qualifying, JCN5K Fundraisers can pick up their shirts at Packet Pickup.

What does registering for the race mean?

By committing to this race and raising money for its success, you are helping Jewish Caring Network raise invaluable funds to enhance the quality of life for children, teens, and adults diagnosed with a life-threatening, lifelong, or serious illness.

We wish you all the success possible! Train, set and achieve new goals, enjoy the race, and get all the sponsors you can. When you cross that finish line, we will all be winners – you, the Jewish Caring Network, and all the people in our community that need your help!

Is there a refund policy?

Thank you, in advance, for your support and understanding. There are absolutely no refunds or transfers for event fees and donations. Please know that the funds you raise for the JCN5K will forever change the lives of families facing a difficult medical journey.

What is the difference between signing up as a team or an individual?

Signing up as a team is just a great way to have fun with friends while supporting a great cause TOGETHER!

What happens if the weather is bad?

This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances.

How do I receive a free race shirt?
Raise a minimum of $180.00 by May 21, 2023 at midnight to receive a free JCN5K race shirt.

The Fine Print -

To be eligible for fundraising prizes, you need to raise the required amount by May 21, 2023, before midnight.
Donations need to appear on your fundraising page to qualify.
Fundraising pages cannot be combined to qualify for prizes.
Once a donation is applied to a participant's page, it cannot be moved.
Prizes are listed and there will be no adjustments or exchanges.

Fundraising

Do I have to raise money in addition to my registration?
Additional donations are not required; however, this is our annual fundraiser and additional donations will allow us help families diagnosed with a life-threatening, lifelong, or serious illness. Please help us help them.

Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?
No. Registration fees cover the race day expenses and course admissions.

Sponsorship

How do I sponsor a JCN5K participant or team?

Click on the Donate button on the main Women's JCN5K, you can then choose the participant or team you would like to sponsor

How can sponsors submit payment to my page?

To sponsor a participant online in the Women's JCN5K, click here.

Checks can be sent to the below address and applied to your donation page. Please make sure that your name is on the check so the funds are correctly placed on your page.

Packet Pickup

Can I pick up my race packet before race day?

Yes! We highly recommend you pick up your race packet on packet pickup day to avoid waiting in line on Sunday

When and where is packet pickup?

Date: Thursday, June 8, 2023

Time: 5:30-7:30 PM

Location: Jewish Community Center - Lobby

5700 Park Heights Ave.

Baltimore, MD 21215

If you cannot make it to packet pickup, you can pick up your race gear materials on race day.

Race Information

How long is a 5K? How long should it take me?

A 5K is approximately 3.1 miles. It could take you anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on if you are walking or running.

Is the JCN5K only for runners?

No! You can run, walk, stroll, or skip! The Run is designed as a day of fun and fitness for supporters, ages 7+. We look forward to a fun and exciting community event.

I have never run in a race before. Will I be able to complete the race?

Absolutely! It might take a little training and coaching, but many of our participants are first-timer runners/walkers. Whether you are a novice or a serious athlete, we will be there to inspire you every step of the way.

Is there a time limit to complete the JCN5K?

The finish line will close 1.5 hours after the start of the race.

Race Day

When: Sunday, June 11, 2023
Time: 7:00-11:00 AM
Where: The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore: One Safari Place, Baltimore, Maryland 21217
Parking Details: Parking at the Zoo is free and available for all race participants.

What is the Race Day Schedule?

7:00 AM: Walk-in Registration

7:00 AM: Team Pictures Begin

7:30 AM: Packet Pickup

8:15 AM (Sharp): JCN5K Official Start

9:45 AM: Breakfast and Awards Ceremony

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes. Single strollers are the only type of stroller allowed. For the safety of all participants, you must start the race behind the runners and move to the right to allow for passage of other participants along the course. Please be careful not to run into other participants with your stroller.

Are roller blades and/or bicycles allowed on the course?

No. For the safety of all participants, roller blades and bicycles are not allowed on the race course.

Can I bring my pet to the race?

Sorry, there are no pets allowed.

Is parking available?

Free parking is available.

How will my time be recorded?

A timing chip will be attached to your bib. Your racing bib must be visible on the front of your shirt in order for your time to be recorded In order for your time to be recorded and to receive your official results, you must wear your racing bib on your shirt and timing chip on your shoe.

Breakfast

Can family members not participating in the race attend and join me for the post race Breakfast?

Yes. Family members not participating in the race need to purchase tickets in order to attend and join post race breakfast. All reservations and payments need to be submitted before June 1, 2023.

What is the cost for my family to attend the post race Breakfast?

Tickets are available for family members not participating until June 1, 2023. Tickets must be reserved and paid in full, before the deadline, in order for them to join.

Cost for family members to attend:
- Ages 7 and up: $15 per person
- Ages 2 to 6: $10 per person
- Children under 2: $5

How can I pay for my family to attend the post race Breakfast?

Stay tuned.

Award Ceremony

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to the top fundraising participants and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place team captains.
Medals will be rewarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best overall times for all participants and for the following age groups: 7-10; 11-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70+.

Where do I sign-up to volunteer?
